Most body armor is II or IIIA. What do most wear?
Someone mentioned depends on what caliber of weapon you carry, that makes sense. Thanks

It’s illegal for students with concealed weapons licenses to carry firearms in in college, and I figured that since armor is a defensive rather than offensive measure, it should be okay right?

Suppose for example, that Joe the Student wears level IIIA kevlar with level II stab protection. The police find out and they frisk him BUT THEY DON’T FIND ANYTHING ILLEGAL. Will he be allowed to continue wearing the armor?
This is in Florida. One is allowed to purchase body armor. Don’t know if it’s okay to wear to public universities though.

I have seen this in the news twice now, in just the last week. Two separate incidences where somene was arrested because of wearing body armor. I can understand weapons, but I can’t comprehend why it is illegal for a felon to posess or wear body armor. Can someone explain the origin of this federal law? Why it exists? It seems like, once a convicted felon, mended ways or not, they are no longer allowed to protect themselves. I just want to know.

The only way that i would be a cop is if they invented a bullet proof body armored suit, we can put a man on the moon but why don’t they make bazooka proof body armor for the cops can be safer?

I am not a cop but I figure cops know about this so…. just clarifying that.

I want to get some body armor for every day use, just to wear around town so if someone goes postal or someone tries to mug me I am covered. First, am I allowed to wear body armor around town in Texas, I don’t know of any laws against it but want to make sure.

I hear that level 2 armor provides OK protection but is not too bulky. I guess size matters so I took some measurements. My waist is 36 inches, at my naval is 35 inches and my chest is 39. I would like a little big of wiggle room so if I pig out or work out I can still fit in but I want it not to wiggle when I move before then. I assume they are adjustable to some extent.

What is the best type of armor for me and how much should I expect to pay? Does armor expire? Are there any things I can’t do in it? Does sweat cause it to go bad, how about water, heat? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
When it starts to stink can I wash it, I heard water ruins it? What is the best way to fight odor? Does wearing an undershirt help?

I figure after a while I will get used to it… just like you get used to wearing a watch or carrying a wallet.

What would you think if you saw a guy walking around wearing a full suit of bullet proof body armor, with head gear and all?

I teach in a NYC PUBLIC SCHOOL

As you know, there has been a school shooting every other week this month (including the Amish schoolhouse and the one’s in Canada).

I’ve decided, I’m not going to get caught out there.

what is a good body armor and pistol combination that I can buy?

I need body armor that’s light and can stand up to both knife attacks and at least 9mm rounds.

I also need a good suggestion for a small concealable pistol – probably in 9mm or .45 cal – something that has enough stopping power to put a 175 pound student out of commission.

Is there a body armor type that won’t show through a typical collarless shirt?

What is the average price for this type of body armor? Are there any special taxes that have to be paid?
I didn’t say I needed it. I was just curious because some of my friends were talking about it.
$63.47? That seems awfully cheap for a bulletproof vest. What website is selling it for that price?
Ok, but how much would a new one cost?
